Curry County Oregon Fair Festival
Late in July, Gold Beach gives its fairgrounds over to livestock, exhibits and carnival lights for the Curry County Fair. The grounds sit off Highway 101 in Gold Beach, the county seat and host town, at the site its welcome calls the Event Center on the Beach, home of the Curry County Fair. Board papers run through September 2026, and a full exhibitor handbook documents the 2025 edition. Yet no page prints the cost of walking in, and no layer states when this fair began. This article keeps to the documents as far as they reach.

About a Fair Whose Papers Run Ahead of Its Gate
One plain name runs through the layers: the 2025 Exhibitor’s Handbook, the county Extension page and board papers through September 2026 all use Curry County Fair. A longer styling, Curry County Fair and Rodeo with an ampersand, was flagged as a possible form before the research, but no document gathered printed it for the Oregon fair. It stands here only as an unverified alternate, and the bull riding in the 2026 programme is an arena item, not part of any title.
The fair’s own pages refuse to sit inside a single year. Its current fair page is headed as information for an edition running July 29 to August 1, 2027, while items lower on that page speak of a 2026 parade and a carnival company joining again for 2026, and the two years are never smoothed into one edition.
Two bodies appear in the paperwork. The Curry County Fair Board is a statutory body charged with management and oversight of the county fair, in the board layer’s description. The 2026 vendor contracts instead name a contracting party called Curry County Fairgrounds, a department of Curry County, never fused with the board’s name. Rosters stay in their layers: the board page names Natasha Tippetts as Fairgrounds Manager; the minutes of June 10, 2026 list members Hollinger, DeWald and Kudlac alongside Fair Manager Tippetts. In the 2025 handbook alone, the Fair Manager supervises the grounds and the Fair Board decides protests. Extension and the county 4-H programme support the fair, and Brass Ring Amusements is the carnival operator only; neither runs this fair.

A County History With No Fair Founding in It
Nothing gathered states a founding year for the Curry County Fair. No fair page, board paper, Extension publication or newspaper layer gives a first fair, an edition number or a claim of unbroken running, so none is printed or back-calculated here. Workshop notes from 2014 mention the fair but are not a history of the event.
For a useful comparison, see the Crook County Oregon Fair Festival for another county festival.
The history that can be told is the county’s, and county history only. Curry County was created on December 18, 1855, and was named for George Law Curry in other layers. At its creation the territorial legislature fixed the seat temporarily at Port Orford. In 1859, after an informal vote during the general election, Ellensburg was designated the county seat, and in 1891 Ellensburg was renamed Gold Beach, for the gold and other minerals in its sands and to end confusion with a same named city in Washington. An independent counties list confirms Gold Beach as the seat. Port Orford’s role was temporary only, and Brookings, called the county’s largest city in other layers, has never held the seat.
What to Expect
The 2025 Handbook’s Exhibitor Programme
The 2025 handbook builds the fair around exhibitors: static departments for Creative Arts, Photography, Hobbycraft, Fiber Arts, Land Products, Floral and Culinary entries, and an Open Class Livestock Show inviting poultry, rabbits, cavies, sheep, swine and goats, with cattle admitted only as room permits. Its Grand Champion Exhibitor contest is reserved for Curry County residents entering at least three departments. Static entries arrive on Monday, July 21, judging follows on Tuesday, July 22 behind a notice that the day is not open to the public, and exhibits are released on Sunday, July 27. The handbook names no stage act, rodeo or carnival for 2025, and nothing from 2026 may be borrowed backwards.
The 2026 Preview’s Arena and Stage Schedule
Everything known about entertainment in 2026 comes from one newspaper preview published on June 25, 2026, and every item here belongs to that layer alone. It themes the edition Tides, Timber, Tradition and promises entertainment, livestock events, carnival rides, food and local vendors. Thursday, July 23 opens with a rodeo featuring bull riding at seven in the evening. Illusionist Scott Anderson performs Friday and Saturday at two in the afternoon. Friday evening brings Tony Lundervold at six and the Stinson Brotherz, a Brooks and Dunn tribute, at half past eight. Saturday adds the Off Axis Stunt Show at six and Sam Girl at seven.
What the Fair’s Own Page Adds for 2026
Separately, and never merged with the newspaper schedule, the fair’s own page adds three undated items for 2026: a 2026 Fair Parade, Brass Ring Amusements joining again for 2026 as carnival operator, and a standing promise of varied entertainment from music to circus training.
The Beach in the Billing
The site calls it the only fairgrounds on the West Coast located directly on the beach, and the preview calls it the only fairgrounds in Oregon where the ocean can be seen. Both are promotional wordings, never a verified ranking.
Planning Your Visit
Finding the Grounds on Ellensburg Avenue
The address in this article’s own wording is 29392 Ellensburg Avenue, Gold Beach, OR 97444, the full form on the 2025 handbook cover and the board letterhead. A shorter layer form is quoted as printed: the camping permit application’s return address reads “29392 Ellensburg Ave, Gold Beach, OR 97444”, and the handbook’s office block uses the same shortened shape, never blended. The grounds also carry layered names, Curry County Fairgrounds in most layers and Event Center on the Beach in the site’s welcome, with a combined wording in that welcome text. Docia Sweet Hall, the Showcase Building, the Livestock Pavilion and the Floral-Land Products Building are halls within the grounds, never the address.

The Admission Question With No Published Answer
The fair’s current page carries an Admissions and Tickets heading and urges readers to get early admission tickets, yet no layer gathered publishes a price, an age tier or a promise of free entry for 2025, 2026 or 2027, and no handbook, board, contract or Extension layer prints a gate ladder. The current cost of admission is therefore unverified. The only ladder in the record is fenced to its own year: a Grants Pass newspaper fun finder dated July 25, 2019 described this fair running from ten in the morning to ten at night through July 27, admission ranging from two to eight dollars, children under six free. That 2019 range is never a per tier ladder for a later year. The handbook’s free season passes, tied to a specific number of livestock entries, are an exhibitor arrangement in the 2025 book, not a public gate offer.
Premiums, Entry Terms and Vendor Money
Under the 2025 handbook, premiums pay three dollars for first, two dollars for second and one dollar for third, to youth aged eighteen and under only, adjustable based on available funds in the book’s warning, paid out on Sunday, July 27, 2025 between noon and three. Sponsored awards, twenty-five dollars for the Superintendent’s Choice Junior award and fifty dollars for Best Scarecrow, are prize money, not prices. Static exhibits carry no entry charge in that book, while livestock pre-entry and fees are required with no figure printed, so livestock entry costs stay unverified. Adult premiums changed in 2026: the minutes of June 10, 2026 record no premiums this year for adults, an estimated two thousand dollars needed, and the static superintendent allowed to seek donations for premiums for this year only. That 2026 position is never combined with the 2025 youth scale. The 2026 contracts price a ten by ten retail pitch at one hundred fifty dollars inside and one hundred twenty-five dollars outside, and a food vendor fee at two hundred fifty dollars plus twenty percent of gross revenue. Parking and carnival prices appear in no fair layer, so both are unverified.
Camping Under Two Sets of Rules That Never Merge
Two camping layers describe different offers. The first is a Camping and Trailer Space Permit Application, a form reviewed on April 25, 2022: a weekly fair permit at twenty-five dollars, permits only for the week of the fair, no water or electrical hookups, a ban on dumping grey water, registration at the fairgrounds office required, one additional vehicle only, and reservations filled in the order forms and fees arrive. That figure is never carried into 2025, 2026 or 2027. The second layer, the fair’s current page, offers camping to 4-H families and vendors only: dry camping, no hookups, no waste disposal, no fire pits, limited space, and no price published. Extension only directs camping questions to the fair office. General public fair week camping and any current price are unverified beyond those layers, and area RV park or coastal campground rates near Gold Beach and Brookings are lodging prices, never fair camping terms.
A Long Weekend Modelled on the 2026 Preview
This itinerary follows the 2026 newspaper layer. Arrive Thursday for the exhibit halls and livestock rows, then stay for the rodeo and bull riding at seven. Friday brings the static departments, the illusion show at two, Tony Lundervold at six and the tribute at half past eight. Saturday repeats the illusionist at two and closes with the stunt show at six and Sam Girl at seven. No layer fixes a Sunday programme.
Other Fairs and Events That Are Not This One
Several near namesakes crowd searches for this fair. The dangerous one shares the county name exactly: a Curry County fair at Clovis, New Mexico, whose dates, prices, programme, organiser, history and grounds details never belong in Gold Beach. The Coos County Fair at Myrtle Point is a different Oregon fair; its carnival operator appears in Curry board papers only as routing and contract context, and a listing pairing this fair’s description with a Coos venue line is a listing error. Other Event Center occasions, including a holiday artisan market, a Thanksgiving meal, a tattoo show invitational and a visiting circus, are rentals, not fair programme. Brass Ring also serves Del Norte County in California in a board layer. The Curry County 4-H Shows are a component inside the fair’s layers, never a separate fair, and resale pages and template listings contribute nothing.
Before You Set Out
- Confirm the dates of your edition in the fair’s current pages, because the 2027 heading and the Extension wording disagree.
- Budget for the gate without relying on any figure here.
- Treat the 2019 newspaper range as history only, never as a recent price.
- Read the camping layers separately, and ask the fair office which offer applies to your stay.
- Keep the 2025 handbook’s entry, judging and release days distinct from its four public days.
Beyond the Fairgrounds
Its sands gave Gold Beach its present name in 1891, gold and other minerals having been found in them, and the fairgrounds’ billing leans on that shoreline. Coastal lodging and campgrounds around Gold Beach and toward Brookings are offered on their own terms by their own operators, as area accommodation entirely separate from the fair’s camping layers.
Why This Fair Holds Its Place in the County
The paperwork shows a fair woven into county government and county youth alike. A statutory board answers for its management, and the county stands behind its contracts. When adult premium money ran short in 2026, the board let a superintendent seek community donations. In a county whose seat and largest town are different places, the late July gathering in Gold Beach pulls the whole county toward one set of grounds.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where is the Curry County Fair held?

It is held at the Curry County Fairgrounds in Gold Beach, Oregon, at 29392 Ellensburg Avenue in the handbook’s full form. Gold Beach is seat and host; Port Orford held the seat only temporarily, and Brookings has never held it.
When does the fair take place?
The documented editions fall in late July: July 23 to 26 in 2025 in the handbook, the same four days in 2026 in a newspaper preview, and July 24 to 27 in 2019 in an association list. No span for 2023 or 2024 appears, and 2027 is split between a page heading of July 29 to August 1 and an Extension statement that dates are currently to be determined.
How much does admission cost?
No fair source gathered publishes a current price. The only figures are a 2019 newspaper range of two to eight dollars with children under six free, fenced to that year, so the gate for 2025, 2026 and 2027 is unverified and worth confirming before travelling.
Can visitors camp during the fair?
The record holds two separate offers. A permit application reviewed in 2022 prices a weekly fair permit at twenty-five dollars with no hookups, while the fair’s current page limits camping to 4-H families and vendors on dry terms with no price shown. General visitor camping is unpublished.
What to Expect From the Next Curry County Oregon Fair Festival
How often is Curry County Oregon Fair Festival held?
The fair is annual: a handbook for 2025, board business through 2026 including a 2027 amusement contract item, an Extension notice placing the 2027 youth shows during the fair, and board discussion about keeping the fair on its current schedule of the last weekend in July.
When is the next Curry County Oregon Fair Festival?
The furthest edition in the layers is the one the fair page heads July 29 to August 1, 2027, while the Extension layer says the 2027 dates are currently to be determined. Both stand as published, so the next edition’s exact days are unconfirmed.
Will the dates change?
They have moved within a narrow band: July 24 to 27 in the 2019 list, July 23 to 26 in both the 2025 handbook and the 2026 preview, and a heading of July 29 to August 1 for 2027. Future editions publish their own days.
Check the dates twice, ask the office about the gate and the camping, and then enjoy a county fair whose own welcome calls it the event center on the beach.
