Tulsa County Oklahoma Tulsa State Fair Festival
For eleven days each autumn, Expo Square in Tulsa fills with barns, midway lights and concert crowds for the Tulsa State Fair, a large paid-admission fair. Its own publications, a county lease and a state historical encyclopedia entry describe it and do not always agree, so this article keeps the layers apart: where the fair’s own book and a later news report print different gate prices for one year, both stand as published rather than blended.

The Fair Behind the Title
The verified event is the Tulsa State Fair itself, held in Tulsa, the county seat of Tulsa County: the Oklahoma Historical Society encyclopedia entry for the county records that Tulsa serves as the county seat. No other Tulsa County town hosts this fair on any layer fetched.
The grounds are Expo Square, addressed as 4145 East 21st St, Tulsa, OK 74114 in listing, lease and footer layers. The historical-society entry instead describes the current 240-acre location between Louisville and Yale avenues and Fifteenth and Twenty-first streets, a boundaries description in its own layer, never merged into the street address. The main exhibition building is the SageNet Center in current layers and the River Spirit Expo or the International Petroleum Exhibition Building in older ones, successive names for one building.
Administration sits with the Tulsa County Public Facilities Authority, administering the fair since 1983 and including the three county commissioners and two at-large members; the fair’s 2025 handbook shortens the name to TCPFA, the county’s 2026 vendor lease keeps the full Authority and writes its address with the street name in full, 4145 East 21st Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Expo Square is the venue and operating brand, never a substitute legal name. The Tulsa Free Fair Association belongs to a 1915 sentence in the historical layer, a Tulsa Exposition and Fair Corp. only to a 1970 bibliography publication, and Amanda Blair’s Expo Square titles differ between 2025 and 2026 news layers and are never harmonised.

From a County Free Fair to a State Fair
The fair’s own About page gives the origin: the event was first organized in 1903 as the Tulsa County Free Fair and developed into the Tulsa State Fair of today. That origin name is historical only, and no separate present-day fair under it is documented in this record.
For a useful comparison, see the Tillman County Oklahoma Free Fair Festival for another county festival.
The historical-society encyclopedia tells a longer arc of its own. In that layer, street fairs of the 1890s and early 1900s downtown are beginnings colour, never a founding date. In 1913 Tulsa landed the International Dry Farming Congress and an exposition grounds opened for it; two years later, in 1915, the Tulsa Free Fair Association was formed. In 1926 the fair moved to its current 240-acre location, and in 1931 a bond issue of five hundred thousand dollars financed the Art Deco style Pavilion. The first Tulsa state fair in that layer was held in 1935, when legislation elevated the local free fair to state fair status.
Later entries carry their own fences: the fair was reorganised in 1949 and merged with a spring livestock show a year later in the society’s telling, while a fair-blog layer puts the merger in 1949 itself, and both stand; its 1958 attendance figure of six hundred thousand conflicts with a blog layer’s far smaller one; the ten-acre International Petroleum Exposition Center was completed in 1966; and administration passed to the Authority in 1983. Crowd figures stay estimates: the About page estimates one million in attendance in 2025, while a news layer reports a drop of one hundred thousand that year against 2024, neither adjusted to fit the other.
What to Expect
The Standing Shape of the Fair
The fair’s own About page describes its standing offer as educational experiences and entertainment across an eleven-day span: the fair’s general portrait of itself, not any year’s lineup.
The 2024 Edition in Its Layers
A Tulsa tourism guide layer for 2024 lists Oklahoma Stage concerts by Jesse McCartney on September 27, Sam Barber on September 28, 38 Special on October 2, Hinder on October 5 and La Furia Del Bravo on October 6, and Pat Green on October 3 in the fair’s own blog layer. The same guide layer promises over 60 spectacular rides.
The 2025 Edition in Its Layers
A magazine layer describes 2025 as rides, livestock shows, Disney On Ice, petting zoos and fried food on a stick, while the fair-side programme sits in the exhibitor handbook. Neither layer programmes any other year.
The 2026 Edition on the Fair’s Own Pages
The fair’s own concert page, under its Pepsi Fall Concert Series heading, publishes the 2026 Oklahoma Stage lineup at 7:30 p.m. unless noted: Drake White on October 1, 49 Winchester on October 2, Blake Whiten on October 3, Midnight Star on October 4, Ben Fuller on October 5, LOCASH on October 6, Drew Baldridge and Lanco on October 7, Gin Blossoms on October 8, Waka Flocka Flame on October 9, Neal McCoy on October 10, and Alianza Norteña and Geru Y Su Legion 7 on October 11 at 6 p.m. Its terms make the concerts free with paid gate admission, an inclusion term and never a gate term. A Tulsa tourism guide layer adds Disney On Ice from October 1 to 4 and fireworks after the stage performances on October 3, 6 and 10. A secondary travel guide’s differing 2026 concert list is quarantined and never merged into the fair’s own lineup.
Planning Your Visit
Dates, Fenced Year by Year
The standing rule places the fair on the fourth Thursday after Labor Day, in the About page and the historical-society entry alike; a secondary summary layer’s fourth Tuesday wording conflicts with both and is not used. The documented spans stand separately: September 28 to October 8, 2023, in a reproduced-text layer only; September 26 to October 6, 2024, in a Tulsa tourism layer; September 25 to October 5, 2025, in the fair’s own handbook; and October 1 to 11, 2026, in lease, tourism and magazine layers.

Gate Admission, Layer by Layer
Every documented modern layer charges for entry, and the modern fair may never be described as free. A Tulsa tourism layer for 2024 prices the gate at fifteen dollars for adults, ten dollars for youth aged 5 to 12, seniors aged 62 and over and military visitors, and no charge for children under 5. The fair’s own 2025 handbook, in its Rule 26, prints fifteen dollars for adults, ten dollars for youth aged 5 to 12 and seniors, and free entry for children under 5. A post-fair October 2025 news layer reports different 2025 figures: adult tickets up from fifteen dollars to seventeen, and the senior, military and 5-to-12 price up from ten dollars to twelve. The handbook and the news report conflict for the same edition, and both stand exactly as published; nothing is averaged. For 2026, a Tulsa tourism guide gives seventeen dollars at the gate for adults, twelve dollars for youth aged 5 to 12, military visitors and seniors, and free entry for children 4 and under, while a magazine layer splits the adult price at twelve dollars online and seventeen at the gate.
Parking, Rides and Exhibitor Money

Parking is fenced by year as strictly as the gate. The 2025 handbook’s Rule 28 puts daily public parking at fifteen dollars per day, while the same book’s Livestock Exhibitor Season, VIP Exhibitor, VIP Season and Trailer parking passes are exhibitor passes, never public parking prices. Tourism and news-guide layers for 2026 give standard parking at twenty dollars, in 2026 layers only.
Ride and extras figures live in one 2026 news-guide layer: midway rides cost between seven and sixteen credits; an unlimited one-day wristband at forty-seven dollars, on sale from October 5 to 11 only; a Mega Ride Pass at ninety-seven dollars covering all eleven days with gate admission, bought before October 4; a Golden Mega Pass at one hundred thirty dollars, also before October 4; and Disney On Ice at twenty dollars to eighty-three dollars thirty cents, gate admission included. The handbook’s entry scales are another kind of money: breeding beef and dairy cattle at forty dollars per head, sheep and goats at twenty dollars and poultry and rabbits at five dollars per head are exhibitor money in the 2025 book, never visitor prices. Food and drink prices beyond isolated 2026 examples are not documented as a class.
Staying Over in the RV Park
Camping here means the Expo Square RV Park, documented only through Expo Square’s own RV documents, fenced form by form. The park sits inside Expo Square with full hookups at every site, and its own address, 3890 East 15th Street, Tulsa, OK 74112, belongs to the park alone. Fair stays use the park’s separate Tulsa State Fair reservation form rather than its general form, and the 2025 handbook’s Rule 33 handles RV reservations on a first come, first served basis. The fair reservation packet’s own terms take a deposit of two hundred dollars on stays of five nights or more, shorter stays paid in full at reservation, with an ODOT fee of twenty-five dollars, and that packet prints no nightly site rate, none of which may be imported into it. An older, undated fair-specific form prices a site at forty dollars per night in its own document, with a non-refundable full fair stay deposit of one hundred sixty dollars. A general year-round form prints the same forty dollars per night plus dry camping at twenty-five dollars per night expressly marked not available for the Tulsa State Fair, with an ODOT fee of fifteen dollars that conflicts with the packet’s twenty-five and stands unmerged; none of its terms are fair-stay terms. No tent, primitive or overflow camping appears in any Expo Square layer, and the forty-dollar figures are Tulsa Expo’s own.
A Sample Fair Day, Built From the 2026 Layers
Start at the barns early, walking the livestock complex, then cross to Central Park Hall for the judged exhibits. October 3 adds the Oklahoma State Fiddling Championships on a fireworks night. Keep the evening for the Oklahoma Stage, where the fair’s page puts a headline concert at 7:30 p.m. each night of the 2026 run, ending with Alianza Norteña and Geru Y Su Legion 7 at 6 p.m. on October 11, and come early in the run for Disney On Ice, which runs only from October 1 to 4.
Two State Fairs and One Phantom
Oklahoma’s other large fair, the Oklahoma State Fair in Oklahoma City, is a separate event in a separate city and county; the shared words State Fair are the whole connection, and no date, price, programme or history fact passes between the two records. The name Tulsa County Free Fair exists on this record only as the fair’s own 1903 origin name, so no second, currently operating county free fair is documented, and none is invented here.
A Visitor’s Checklist
- Quote every price with its layer attached, because the 2025 gate figures conflict.
- Treat the wristband and the gate as separate purchases, since that layer’s wristband excludes admission.
- Book the RV Park on the fair-specific reservation form, not the general year-round form.
- Never carry a nightly rate into the fair reservation packet from another form, because the packet prints none.
- Arrive before 7:30 p.m. on 2026 concert nights, when the Oklahoma Stage programme begins.
Beyond the Fairgrounds
Expo Square sits inside Tulsa, the county seat, and the fair’s ground has been the city’s since the 1926 move in the historical layer, its boundaries at Louisville and Yale avenues and Fifteenth and Twenty-first streets placing it deep within the city. The county’s other towns enter this record only as Tulsa’s neighbours in the encyclopedia layer: none of them hosts, seats or shares the fair.
Why This Fair Carries Weight
Its paperwork is unusually open: a handbook printing its own gate rule, a county lease fixing the next span, a historical entry disagreeing with a blog layer in plain sight. The historical-society entry’s standing wording credits the fair with attracting more than one million visitors annually, its standing resting on how those layers check against one another with the disagreements left visible.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where is the Tulsa State Fair held?
Every layer places it in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at Expo Square, whose fairgrounds address stands as 4145 East 21st St, Tulsa, OK 74114. The RV Park carries its own different address, and the two are never interchanged here.
Is the Tulsa State Fair free to enter?
No documented modern layer supports that reading. Gate admission is charged in every modern layer gathered here, and the 1903 origin name is historical only, never evidence about a modern gate.
Why do the 2025 gate prices disagree?
Two layers about the same edition say different things: the fair’s own 2025 handbook prints fifteen dollars for adults and ten dollars for youth and seniors, while a post-fair news report puts the adult price at seventeen dollars and the concession categories at twelve. Both stand as published.
Can I stay at the fairgrounds during the fair?
The documented option is an RV site with full hookups at the Expo Square RV Park, booked on the fair-specific reservation form. The fair packet sets its own deposit and fee terms and prints no nightly rate, an older fair form prices a site at forty dollars per night in its own document, and no tent camping is documented in any layer.
What to Expect From the Next Tulsa County Oklahoma Tulsa State Fair Festival
How often is Tulsa County Oklahoma Tulsa State Fair Festival held?
The fair is annual on this record, running eleven days from the fourth Thursday after Labor Day, with dated editions in layers for 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026.
When is the next Tulsa County Oklahoma Tulsa State Fair Festival?
The latest dated span in the record is October 1 to 11, 2026, fixed by the county lease layer. Later editions follow the standing fourth-Thursday rule, and later spans belong to their own future publications.
Will the dates change?
The rule that sets them is stable across these layers, yet the span moves yearly because it hangs on Labor Day and the Thursday count after it, sliding from late-September starts in 2024 and 2025 to an October 1 opening in 2026.
Held apart, the prices, dates, names and forms above belong to the documents that printed them, and they describe one large Tulsa fair without inventing another.
